My Pastor said something along these lines yesterday “You are going to be one of 2 things in life: 1. A Problem Solver; or a 2. Excuse Maker.”
Today I was reviewing those notes from his sermon and it really made me think: “Am I a problem solver, or am I an Excuse maker?” I first thought to myself that I sure hope I am more of a problem solver than an excuse maker. I really had to do some good ole “soul searching”.
You know what my conclusion to that question was, and is? …… Even though I see myself as a “problem solver” for the most part, I see there are areas where I have been an EXCUSE MAKER!! And like a good buddy of mine says “That aint what you want!” So I had to do some real self evaluating. And for most of us, that is probably the hardest evaluating that we can do. It is hard to face our own short comings, but man oh man how beneficial it is.
All this to say that I have been focusing today on areas where I can and should do better. And that in itself is great, yet without any kind of PLAN to actually DO Better, then you probably want accomplish much. With that in mind I am filling out a LIFE IMPROVEMENT PLAN that my pastor has personally used for many years now and he said it has helped him tremendously. This is something I planned to complete at the first of the year, but I waited till now. Like I told him, BETTER LATE THAN LATER!!
So there you go. I am working towards doing better. I am evaluating myself, my life. And I am making a Plan with specific steps to make improvements. I encourage you to do the same. You can get this same “Life Improvement Plan” from my pastor’s website: toddwright.net
Go there are you can download the plan for free. And remember: GET ON IT DOG’ON IT!
