The “3 Fordthousand” and “secret pond”

Friends and neighbors

Boy oh boy did we have a great weekend this Labor Day weekend.  We went down to Garfield for the weekend and it was a blast.  I got a lot of work done on the farm, the boys got to play in the mud with their cousins, and we rode the tractors.  That is some good stuff.

David Ben and Joshua Paul both love to ride the tractors and they know the names of them.  We have a John Deere 4020 and a Ford 3000.  David Ben still has a little trouble with getting them right but he is learning.  He still calls the Ford the “Three Fordthousand.”

One of the things I spent most of my time on this weekend was clearing out a good path to what Papa called his “secret pond.”  We have 2 big ponds on the property, and this was a very little pond that was secluded, and not many people know about it.  He kept the path clear and always took us back there to see and feed the fish.  I knew it was going to take up a bunch of my time to clear the path, but I decided that it was worth it and very important to keep it available and usuable for the family.  Even though it may not seem like a big deal to many, to me it was a huge deal to keep it going just like Papa would have.  Sometimes in life there are those things that are ok to let go, and sometimes there are those “small” things that are worth keeping alive.

YOUR HEALTH, YOUR LIFE, YOUR CHOICE,  Godbless u kj
