Worry = Sick

Friends and neighbors

I had lunch today with a friend.  He mentioned to me that one of his family members was sick and also that this person was a big “worrier.”  Then he asked me if I thought their sickness could have something to do with all their worrying.  I said of course it could, and it is highly possible that the worrying is the root cause.

Now of course worrying is not always the root cause of all sickness, but actually in many cases it is.  Many studies prove that anxiety, worry, and stress are the root problem with many sicknesses and diseases.  Most people realize this is true to some extent.  The problem is that most do not realize just how true it is.

We all deal with issues in life that can bring plenty of opportunity to get into fear, which leads to worry.  First and foremost the issue can be handled right there upfront if we will be on constant guard.  The Bible makes it clear that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.  Much of all worrying can be handled right there.  That is why it is so important to do as the Word teaches and literally “take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.”  Basically what that means is that you CAN & should stay on guard for all thoughts that come to you.  Make sure those thoughts line up with what the Word says.  If the thought has fear attached to it, then you know it is not of God.  You take that thought literally captive, and change it to a thought that lines up with the Word.  Christ is the Word.  The Word is Christ.

So no matter what, always be on guard for negative, fearful thoughts.  And remember, if you dont choose to control your thoughts, they will take control of you.  And yes you can have a huge positive impact on your health by choosing to think on what God says, staying out of fear, and choosing not to worry.

YOUR HEALTH, YOUR LIFE, YOUR CHOICE
